How the guaranteed K1 route works
The MOE Kindergarten-Early Years Centre (MK-EYC) partnership links a preschool for the younger years (playgroup to N2) with an MOE Kindergarten for K1 and K2. If your child is enrolled at this EYC and stays in continuously up to the N2 registration deadline, they are guaranteed a K1 place at the partner MK, with no balloting for that step.
The MK matters for primary school too: a child attending an MOE Kindergarten gets Phase 2A priority at the MK's host primary school. That is why the host school's balloting above is worth a look, it tells you how competitive that P1 place has been.
