P1 Priority & Kranji Primary Ballot History

Children attending MK@Kranji are eligible to register for Primary 1 at Kranji Primary School during Phase 2A, subject to the prevailing MOE rules. Phase 2A is an earlier priority phase, but it does not guarantee admission. If applications exceed vacancies, citizenship and home-to-school distance priority may apply, and a ballot may be required.

Phase 2A status

MK@Kranji is not yet operating, so its pupils have not entered Kranji Primary's Phase 2A pool. There is no MK-linked Phase 2A figure to report yet, and we do not show host figures as if they were the outlet's own.

K1 Admission to MK@Kranji

K1 places at MK@Kranji are offered through the annual MOE Kindergarten registration exercise, held around February to March for entry the following January. K1 is for children turning 5 in the year of entry; K2 follows the next year.

Admission runs in priority order set by MOE. Continuing K1 children from the partner Early Years Centre and siblings are considered first, followed by other applicants. When applications for a level exceed the places available, MOE holds a ballot, and home-to-school distance can be used as a tie-break where applicable.

Living nearest does not automatically guarantee a place. Distance affects priority in a ballot; it is not an unconditional guarantee. Outcomes are released by MOE after the exercise, and parents accept the offered place within the stated window to secure it.

Partner Early Years Centre

MOE has not listed a partner Early Years Centre for MK@Kranji. Where an MK has a partner EYC, enrolling early there is the one route that secures a guaranteed K1 place. You can read how that pathway works in our EYC guide.

Two different pathways

1. Partner EYC → MK@Kranji
Eligible children who meet the official EYC partnership conditions and stay enrolled through the required period are guaranteed a K1 place at the partner MK.
2. MK@Kranji → Kranji Primary
Attending MK@Kranji provides Phase 2A eligibility at the host primary school. It does not guarantee a Primary 1 place.

The guaranteed part is the EYC-to-MK step. It does not carry through to a guaranteed Primary 1 place.

Does MK@Kranji guarantee admission to Kranji Primary School?

No. It gives eligible children Phase 2A registration eligibility at Kranji Primary School, subject to the prevailing MOE rules, vacancies, citizenship, home-to-school distance and balloting where required. Phase 2A is an earlier priority phase, not a guaranteed place.

Does living near MK@Kranji guarantee a K1 place?

No. Where an MOE Kindergarten is oversubscribed, home-to-school distance can affect priority or balloting, so living nearby may help. It is not an unconditional guarantee of a K1 place.

Does the partner Early Years Centre guarantee a place at MK@Kranji?

Children who meet the official EYC partnership conditions and stay enrolled through the required period are offered a guaranteed K1 place at the partner MK. This EYC-to-MK guarantee is separate from P1 admission at the host primary school, which is never guaranteed.

Can my child attend MK@Kranji but apply to another primary school?

Yes. You are not required to register at the host primary school. Attending MK@Kranji earns Phase 2A eligibility at Kranji Primary, but you are free to choose the primary school that suits your child and family.

Past results show how much demand there has been at Kranji Primary in Phase 2A, which helps you set expectations. They cannot predict or guarantee a future outcome, because demand, vacancies and the families who apply change every year.
