Pioneer Primary School

A parent's fact-file: P1 competitiveness, programmes, and what to expect.
Pioneer Primary School is a government co-educational primary that moved from Jurong West to a purpose-built campus in Tengah, becoming the first primary school in this newly developed estate. Founded in 1995, it merged with Juying Primary School in 2022 to free up its old site for the Jurong Region Line MRT extension, then resumed Primary 1 intake at the new Tengah campus through the 2025 P1 Registration Exercise. Here is what it is known for, and a clear read on how competitive a P1 place has been so far.

Common questions
Is Pioneer Primary School a SAP school? +
No. Pioneer Primary School is a government co-educational school, not a Special Assistance Plan (SAP) school.
Does Pioneer Primary School have an affiliated secondary school? +
No. MOE's SchoolFinder listing shows no affiliated secondary school, so a P1 place here carries no priority route into any particular secondary school. Secondary posting follows the normal PSLE and Secondary 1 Posting Exercise.
How competitive is P1 registration at Pioneer Primary School? +
So far, not very. In its first intake at Tengah in 2025, no phase went to a ballot and the school still had vacancies left after Phase 2C Supplementary. The 2026 exercise has followed the same pattern through the confirmed phases. This could change as Tengah fills up with more young families over the coming years, so check the current year's figures on MOE's balloting data checker before you plan around it.
