The four school terms
The primary school year runs across four terms, grouped into two semesters. These dates are shared by MOE Kindergartens, primary and secondary schools.

Term 1 begins on Monday, 4 January 2027. The year runs across four terms grouped into two semesters, ending when Term 4 closes on Friday, 19 November 2027.
When are the June school holidays in 2027? +
The mid-year (June) holidays run from Saturday, 29 May to Sunday, 27 June 2027, about four weeks. It is the longest break apart from the year-end holidays.
When do the year-end school holidays start in 2027? +
The year-end holidays begin on Saturday, 20 November 2027 and run to 31 December, about six weeks. For a child entering Primary 1 in 2028, this is the break right before they start.
Is 9 February 2027 a school holiday? +
Yes. Chinese New Year falls on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 February, with Monday 8 February gazetted as the public holiday in lieu. MOE additionally gives primary schools Tuesday 9 February off, so students are away from Saturday 6 to Tuesday 9 February.
How many school terms are there in a year? +
There are four terms, grouped into two semesters. Each term is roughly ten weeks, with a one-week break after Terms 1 and 3, a four-week break in June, and a six-week break at year-end.
