Relocating in 2029, no Primary 1 intake for 2025 to 2027

MOE announced on 14 May 2025 that Damai Primary School will relocate from Bedok to Tampines North in 2029, to meet demand for primary school places there. As part of the move, there is no Primary 1 registration at Damai for the 2025, 2026 and 2027 exercises. It will admit its first batch of Primary 1 pupils at the new campus in 2029, through the 2028 P1 Registration Exercise.

This pause applies to new Primary 1 intake only. Existing pupils are not displaced: the Bedok campus stays open so they can complete their studies there, and the school will operate from two campuses during the transition.

This is Damai Primary School's actual Primary 1 balloting record up to 2024, its last intake before the pause. Ahead of the 2029 relocation there is no new Primary 1 intake for the 2025, 2026 and 2027 exercises, so those years have no figures. In its final years Damai was consistently undersubscribed, taking every applicant without a ballot.

Phases
Distance groups (ballot priority order)
  • 1. SC<1 — Singapore Citizen within 1km
  • 2. SC 1-2 — within 1 to 2km
  • 3. SC>2 — beyond 2km
  • 4. PR<1 — Permanent Resident within 1km
  • 5. PR 1-2 — within 1 to 2km
  • 6. PR>2 — beyond 2km

A grey note like all SC placed or all SC<1 placed means the phase was oversubscribed but no ballot was conducted: MOE offered the places by citizenship and distance priority, and everyone in the group shown was admitted (per MOE’s official balloting data). The % is not red in these cases because there was no ballot.

Each cell: the big number is places taken; below it, applicants / vacancies, then the demand % (applicants as a share of vacancies, so above 100% means more families wanted that phase than there were places). A red cell went to a ballot, with the group and its ratio, e.g. SC 1-2 (6/5). In the Total column, “of NNN” is that year’s total P1 places, the +/- below is the change from the year before, and the last line is places taken as a % of the total.
